Mating report

Mating reports show the statistics for Matings that have been recorded during a selected date range.

Mating statistics can be displayed by animal type, year of dam birth and dam breed. The stock class on the mating report is the dam's stock class at mating. If your dams are EID tagged, you can use reporting groups in this report.

Recording dam weights at mating

Follow these hints to record your mating weights. 

If your dams are EID tagged:

• Record mating and mating weight events against the tags.
• Mating weights must be recorded within 30 days before the start and 7 days after the end of mating.
• If you are using event categories, use the Mating event category on the mating weight event.
• If you are not using event categories the System will use the latest weighing event within the time period.

If your dams are not EID tagged or you do not have an EID mating weight:

• Record an average mating weight on the Mating event.

Calculating expected birth dates

The system calculates expected birthing dates from the sire introduction date using commonly accepted gestation periods:

• Sheep – 146 days
• Deer – 235 days
• Cattle – 283 days

If there are several sire introduction dates the System calculates an average date.

View and export a Mating report

To view and export a Mating report:

1. On the Navigation bar, click Report centre > Reproduction. 
2. Find the Mating report and click View.
3. Choose a time period by:

• Season – enter the season in which the offspring will be born.
• Date – enter the Activity start and end dates

4. If you wish to report on selected groups, click Filter by groups and select or create your groups.

• You can add up to 5 groups. For more information about creating groups see Trait reporting groups.
• De-select Show results by reporting group? if you want to combine the information from the groups.

5. If you wish to see the report on screen, click  View. 

• Use the expansion arrows next to the stock class in the lower table to see details by breed.

6. If you wish to export the report, click Export summary and select Excel document or PDF file.
