Record Land activities

Record land activities
You can record information about land related activities in FarmIQ, specifically, chemical, effluent, fertiliser, irrigation and planting and cropping. You can also record harvesting crops and pastures. Other land activities can be recorded as General land activities.

If you use a TracMap registered spreading contractor you can have TracMap proof of application data automatically recorded in FarmIQ.

You can select paddocks or blocks from the farm map quickly and accurately to record land activities. Starting on the map saves time because the selected paddocks are automatically entered into the events.

If there is no specific land activity in FarmIQ for the event you want to record, record a General land activity.

On the map, select the paddocks or blocks where you have applied effluent.
-
Right click a highlighted paddock and select Effluent.
-
Enter the Application date and check the Selected paddocks.

Enter the Application details. Select the:
-
Effluent pond
-
Effluent name
-
You can select an effluent product that you have added to inventory.
-
The specifications for that product will be entered. You can change these.
-
You can add a product if the effluent product you are using has not yet been recorded in FarmIQ.
-
Sprayer
-
You can select or add a sprayer.
-
For:
-
Paddocks without runs, enter the Sprayed % and Rate of application for each paddock selected.
-
Paddocks with runs, check or enter the Sprayed % and Rate of application for each run selected.
-
Costs.
-
Costs are optional but if you do enter costs, you have to select the Type and Total.

To add a cost click Add another cost.

You can record additional Notes or upload Attachments.

Click
Save.
-
The System confirms that the activity has been saved.

On the map, select the paddocks or blocks where you have applied fertiliser.
-
Right click a highlighted paddock and select
Fertiliser.
-
Enter the
Application date, Select the type of area and check the
Selected paddocks.
-
Enter the
Application details.
-
To record more than one fertiliser, select or enter the number of fertilisers in the
Number of fertilisers
box.

When you select a product, the specifications for that product will be entered. You can change these.

You can Add products if the one you are using is not in FarmIQ.

You can Add inventory.
-
Costs.
-
Costs are optional but if you do enter costs, you have to select the
Type
and
Total.

To add more costs click
Add another cost.

Add any
Notes
and click
Save.

On the map, select the paddocks or blocks you have irrigated.
-
Right click a highlighted paddock or block and select Irrigation.
-
Application details
-
Select or add an Irrigator.
-
Enter an Application rate/hr.
-
Select a Start time and End time.
-
Enter the Application date.
-
Select the type of area.
-
If the selected irrigator is drawn on the map you do not need to select the type of area.
-
Check the Selected paddocks or Block.
-
If the selected irrigator is drawn on the map you do not need to select paddocks.
-
You can enter the Total water used.
-
Costs
-
Costs are optional but if you do enter costs, you have to select the Type and Total.

To add a cost click Add another cost.
-
You can record additional Notes or upload Attachments.
-
Click
Save.
-
The System confirms that the activity has been saved.
-
On the map, select the paddocks or blocks that you have planted.
-
Right click a highlighted paddock and select
Cropping.
-
Enter the
Planting date
and check the
Selected paddocks.

Record planting details:
-
Select the
Planting type.
-
Enter the pasture or crop details.
-
If you select a
Supplier,
only products from that supplier will be shown.

When you select a product, the specifications for that product will be entered. You can change these.

You can Add products if the one you are using is not in FarmIQ.
-
You can enter
Batch/inventory
information or Add inventory.

Costs

Costs are optional but if you do enter costs, you have to select the
Type
and
Total.

To add more costs click
Add another cost.

Add any
Notes
and click
Save.
Record Harvests
You can record pasture and crop harvest information in FarmIQ
including whether the product is for sale or inventory.

If you record the product destination as Sell, the quantity harvested will not appear in the Product inventory.

If, when you record a harvest, you add a new animal feed product, it will only be added to your On farm product list if you record the product destination as Inventory.

You can record several harvests of the same pasture, as you would if you were harvesting lucerne. When you have harvested the pasture for the last time, select the Mark the paddock as harvested box as described in step 4, below. Once the paddock has been marked as harvested, the pasture will no longer appear on the map when you select the Crops & pasture layer.

On the
farm map
select the paddocks or blocks that you are harvesting.

Right click the paddocks and select
Harvest.
-
Enter the
Harvest date.
-
If you do not intend to harvest these paddocks again, select Mark paddock(s) harvested.

Select the type of area.

Harvest details
For feed, not in bales:

For feed to be fed out or sold in bales:
|
Select:
-
Animal feed from catalogue then select the Feed product.
OR
-
New animal feed product or Other then enter a Feed name
To make it easy to identify and select your feed in FarmIQ, use a name that is not the same as any of the default FarmIQ products in the feed catalogue, for example use 'Grass silage' instead of 'Silage'.

To make it easy to identify and select your feed in FarmIQ, use a name that is not the same as any of the default FarmIQ products in the feed catalogue, for example, 'Pasture baleage' instead of 'Baleage'.

Select the Feed type.
|
Select one of the feed types that support bales:

Baleage
-
Hay
-
Silage
-
Straw.
|
Select kg or tonnes under Unit type.
|
Select Bales under Unit type.
|
Check or enter the Total Ha harvested.
|
Enter the number of bales.
|
Select Dry weight or Wet weight and enter the Total quantity harvested.

The System calculates Quantity per ha.
You can enter ME.
If you select Wet weight you must also estimate the Dry Matter percentage.

The System calculates Dry matter (DM) kg.
|
Enter the Average dry weight per bale.
-
The System calculates Total quantity.
You can enter ME.
|
Record the Product destination as:
-
Inventory if you want the harvest to be recorded in Inventory
-
Enter a meaningful Batch name/number.
-
You can record an Expiry date and Location stored.
-
Sell.

To record:
-
Neutral detergent fibre (NDF)
-
Crude protein
-
Organic matter (OM) / Ash
-
Acid detergent fibre (ADF)
select Record extra details.

Recording Costs is optional. If you do want to record them, click Add another cost.

Click
Save.
-
The System confirms that the activity has been saved.
General land Activities
Use General land activity to record any land event or activity that cannot be recorded using another FarmIQ event or activity.

On the map, select the paddocks or blocks where you carried out the activity.

Right click a highlighted paddock and select General land.

Enter the Activity date and Select the type of area.
-
Check the Selected paddocks.
-
Enter the Activity details.
-
Enter a description of the activity.

You can select a category from the dropdown list.
-
To add a category to this list, go to Task categories and Add a task Applicable to Land.

Costs.
-
Costs are optional but if you do enter costs, you have to select the Type and Total.

To add a cost click Add another cost.

You can record additional Notes or upload Attachments.

Click
Save.
-
The System confirms that the activity has been saved.

Find general land activities on the Calendar or List screens of the Diary.
