Liveweight gain report

This report shows the growth rate of stock over a selected time period, based on recorded individual animal weights. You can run the report using Reporting groups or filter the animals in the report using a one-off search.

You can include multiple groups in the report to compare different stock and animal management methods.

Crystal Brook farm found a $226 per head feed-cost difference between bull calf suppliers using FarmIQ's EID liveweight recording and reports. See less.

They were able to load weight data they had already collected into FarmIQ and make a backdated record of calf weights. Then they could compare calf performance for each of their suppliers with a few clicks using FarmIQ's EID reporting groups.

They found significant differences between suppliers - and found an easy way to improve calf weights or hit earlier finishing dates.

What's in the report

The report shows a graph of average daily liveweight gain per month for each group. You can choose to show the weight range and seasons. Below the graph there is a table for each group showing:

Average weight gain per month
Number of animals in the group in that month
Number of animals for which there are weights recorded in that month
High range. This is the highest gain recorded.
Low range. This is the lowest gain recorded.

Set up and view the liveweight gain report

To set up and view the liveweight gain report:

On the Navigation bar, click Report centre > Animal.
Find the Liveweight gain report and click View.

Select the Start date and End date or use Quick date select.
Select the stock you want to report on.

Select the animal type.
Select stock that was weighed on farm, while grazing off farm or on a finishing farm.

Add animals to the report.

You can use any combination of these methods:

Select a saved reporting group in Saved groups.
Create a new reporting group.
- When you save the new reporting group, the System will return to this report.

Do a One-off search

Do a One-off search

	- You cannnot have multiple one-off searches set up at a time for a single report. - To create a reporting group with a one-off search, the animals must have EID weights recorded against them, rather than mob average weights.

Click One-off search.
Enter the Search criteria.
- If you select a Mob name, the animals you are searching for must have been in that mob during the date range you select.
- As you set the search criteria, the number of animals and number of weighing events which meet that criteria are shown below.
You can save the One-off search as a reporting group.

Continue to add groups or one-off searches, as described above, until all the animals have been selected.

You can...	remove groups you have selected.
You can...	edit new groups you have created.

Click View.

Change what is displayed in the liveweight gain graph

Below the Liveweight gain graph there are a number of checkboxes that you can use to customise what is displayed on the graph.

Select the checkbox to:

Show seasons.
Show weight range.
- Approximately 95% of weights are included in the 2 standard deviation weight range.

Change the report criteria or view a new report

To change the report criteria or view a new report:

Set up and view the report.
Click New report.
Select the new report criteria.
You can... remove groups you have selected.

edit new groups you have created.
Click View.
